Prescriber FAQ's

What is a compounding pharmacy?

A compounding pharmacy creates customized medications based on a healthcare provider’s prescription. Compounded medications are prepared to meet the specific needs of an individual patient when commercially available medications may not be the best fit.

For example, a compounded medication may be prepared in a different strength, dosage form, or without certain inactive ingredients such as dyes, binders, or sugars. Compounding allows medications to be tailored to a patient’s unique needs when prescribed by their healthcare provider.

Can Avrio Pharmacy ship prescriptions to my state?

Avrio Pharmacy ships compounded medications to many states across the United States and we are continually expanding.

To view our current licensed states, visit our Licensed States page. If your state is not currently listed, feel free to contact us. We are actively working to serve more patients nationwide and can let you know when licensure becomes available in your state.
