Your Pet’s Personalized Pharmacy

Pets are cherished members of the family. Just as we rely on human doctors for our health needs, veterinarians play a crucial role in caring for our beloved animal companions.

While veterinarians are skilled in prescribing medications, there are times when commercially available medications may not be the correct treatment for your pet’s unique make up; or they may even be reluctant to take them.

Most Common Dosage Forms For Pets:

Unique strengths, or multiple medications combined into an easy to swallow capsule. We know pets are picky when it comes to taking medications, which is why we always compound medications in the smallest capsule size possible. If your pet is struggling to swallow capsules or other solid dosage forms, discuss alternative formulation options with one of our pharmacy team members.

Most of our compounded tablets are scored (easily splittable along pressed lines) to provide flexibility in dosing for pets of all sizes.
An easy-to-administer medication option for your dog or cat with flavoring options.
Available as drops or ointments to help treat infections, inflammation, and pain.

Liquids are a great option for pets that are resistant to taking tablets and capsules. Choose from one of our gourmet flavors for your pet; If you are unsure of what flavor to choose, ask one of our team members for recommendations when ordering your prescription.

Creams, and gels that are typically applied to the inner ear flap of dogs and cats who struggle to take medications by other routes of administration. Our transdermal pens provide an easy-to-dose solution for pet owners.
Dry eye (KCS), antiviral, and glaucoma medications compounded for your dogs and cats.

Helping pets live happier and healthier lives.

We can help you find an effective and affordable treatment option for your pet.

Your veterinarian may have chosen Avrio Pharmacy for several reasons, all focused on providing the best possible care for your pet:

Compounded Medication Expertise: Avrio Pharmacy specializes in creating compounded medications for pets. These custom-made medications can be formulated to address your pet’s specific needs, such as:

  • Dosage Adjustments: If the standard medication dosage isn’t ideal for your pet’s weight or health condition, a compounded version can be created with the perfect amount.
  • Flavoring: Does your pet struggle with taking bitter pills? Avrio can create a tastier version in flavors like chicken, beef, or fish, making medication time easy.
  • Unique Dosage: Sometimes, a medication might not be available in a form your pet can easily take.

Veterinary Care Knowledge: Avrio’s team of pharmacists and technicians have extensive experience with veterinary medications. Knowing your pet’s medication is in the hands of professionals familiar with animal health needs can provide peace of mind.

Absolutely! We understand that taking medication isn’t always fun for pets. That’s why we offer tasty flavors like chicken, beef, and fish to make the experience more enjoyable and ensure they get the medicine they need.
  • Find the Best Solution – We are happy to discuss your needs and preferences with you, and work alongside your veterinarian to ensure the compounded medication aligns with you and your pets needs.
  • Customized Formula – We’ll ensure that a formula is created to create the personalized medication based on specific information like the dosage form (capsule, chew, liquid, etc), strength/dose required, and flavor (it applicable).
  • Preparation – Our pharmacy team will carefully compound your medication, following the highest quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance – Multiple quality checks by pharmacists during the compounding process to screen for dosing and clinical appropriateness, review of calculations and steps in preparing the compound, review of completed product, and one final review before preparing your prescription ready for pickup or shipment.
  • Pickup or Delivery – When your medication is ready, we’ll notify you for pick-up or prepare shipment to the requested delivery address.
Due to the personalized nature of compounded medications, we typically require 3-5 business days to prepare them for both pets and humans. This allows us to ensure the medication meets your specific needs and requirements. You may also ask your veterinarian to discuss what quick fill (in-stock) options that we may have available in order to expedite the prescription process.
